Getting Started with the WebCMS
The WebCMS is accessible to EPA employees and contractors inside EPA's firewall.
About the WebCMS
The WebCMS is used for managing pages on www.epa.gov. These resources give you an overview of the WebCMS system and its implementation:
Accessing WebCMS
Anyone with EPA LAN credentials can log into the Public Access WebCMS. All logged in staff can view all pages, published or not. If you do not have a role in a web area, that will be all you can do.
There are several roles in the WebCMS and each allows a certain set of actions in the system. Users can have different and multiple roles in different web areas. If you have a role in a web area, you'll also be able to edit content. Here's additional information about logging into WebCMS and what you can do in your role.
About the WebCMS Staging Site
Use the staging site to become familiar with system features, understanding that the content you create in the sandbox will never be visible to the public, that you cannot migrate this sandbox content into our production system, and knowing that your test content will be wiped periodically.
