Browse by Taxonomy Pages
It is possible to view and link to pages that list content in the WebCMS that have been tagged with specific taxonomy terms. For example:
- Administrator
- Energy
- About EPA
- Data and Tools
- Even keywords that you've defined: Action
These taxonomy pages are dynamically generated: as pages are tagged and published with the term they are automatically added to the list.
Along with Dynamic Lists, linking to these pages can be a good way of giving access to content that might be of interest to users. Web Editors might also find it useful to view these pages when conducting content inventories as they can help discover pages and documents on other web areas that cover the same topics and might be useful to link to.
How to view and link to Taxonomy pages
https://www.epa.gov/[the taxonomy name]/[name of the term]
When typing the taxonomy names, replace all spaces with dashes and remove all special characters. For example:
- Great Plains (Geographic Location) > https://www.epa.gov/geographic-locations/great-plains
- Impaired Waters (for Public Notice Program or Statue) > https://www.epa.gov/program-or-statute/impaired-waters
Note that the stop word "and" is not removed, but ampersands are.
You can link to these pages by selecting the link WYSIWYG button and copying and pasting the URL into the URL field. Be sure to carefully preview these pages before linking to them to ensure that the content linked to will be relevant to the page you are linking from. Since these are dynamically generated pages, and content will continuously be added and removed, check them periodically to make sure the links are still relevant to your page.
